I came across a link to a GLBT church in the midwest while reading the comments made by someone on a blog. Apparently, the church is part of a larger group of churches which was formed in the late 60’s to promote this ungodly lifestyle.

[Name Removed] Church is a church unlike any you’ve ever attended! If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered, we believe [our church] can minister to your spiritual needs, because: (1) You will find our teachings deeply relevant to your life. The sermon illustrations and practical applications are put in the context of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered life experiences. (2) You are free to be who you are. (3) You´ll have opportunities to receive basic instruction regarding why it’s ok to be gay and Christian. By joining with us, you can help [our church] fulfill its unique mission to share the Good News of God’s love for all. That’s a message our community needs to hear!

I listened to a few minutes of the senior minister’s life story in which he explains how he tried unsuccessfully to overcome his homosexual desire for men by staring at a picture of Princess Diana. When this didn’t work, he came to the conclusion that the only homosexual lifestyles which are condemned in the Bible were those involved with promiscuity and the worship of idols.

Unfortunately, this minister and those who attend his church have been deceived. While attempting to figure out a way to follow their desires, they have completely blocked out the Scriptures which address their ungodly choice. The Word of God is very clear on this matter:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. —1 Corinthians 6:9-11

God does not condone the GLBT lifestyle (or any of these other sins mentioned above). He condemns it. If you are involved in such a lifestyle, be warned that God is not pleased (see Rom. 1:18-32, esp. 26-28). But he is merciful to sinners of all backgrounds, offering forgiveness when you repent of your sins (Luke 13:1-5) and place your faith in the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:9-13).

Let me conclude with this statement: Bible Community Church is a church unlike any you’ve ever attended! If you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered, we believe our church can minister to your spiritual needs, if you are willing to repent of your sin and turn to Christ.
