I just reread Pastor Mark Perry’s article about Romans 14 and appreciated his explanation. “Romans 14 is not about my rights—it is about my responsibility to build up others in Christ, even if that means foregoing my supposed rights.” That seems to go along with my understanding of 1 Corinthians 9:22.
