Has Noah’s Ark Been Found?
AOL News

Texas archaeologists believe they may have located the remains of Noah’s Ark in Iran’s Elburz mountain range. The Bible places the Ark in the mountains of Ararat, a mountain range theologians believe spans hundreds of miles, which the team says is consistent with their find in Iran. The Bible also describes the Ark’s dimensions as being 300 cubits by 50 cubits—about the size of a small aircraft carrier. The B.A.S.E. Institute’s discovery is similar in size and scale.

Preaching politics, ignoring the Bible
World Net Daily

The officious triumvirate, or perhaps better put, “elipadae” of the Revs. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Joseph Lowery gathered hundreds of black ministers June 26 in Dallas, Texas, for a three-day conference “to discuss refocusing the political efforts of black churches back on fighting social injustice instead of the ‘Christian right’s’ battle against abortion and homosexual marriage.” I personally think it was more in keeping with “how to ensure your congregants fail in life and die unsaved,” but I digress.

Old-time religion
The Boston Globe

This interest in what are often considered “liberal” issues marks the rise of a younger and more moderate leadership among evangelicals. Paradoxically, these new leaders are more “religious” than the old guard of the religious right. The difference, one could argue, is that they are more concerned about actually following Jesus, who had much to say about violence and the poor, but said nothing about gays or a strong military, and who was put to death by torture.

Massachusetts’ highest court ruled on Monday that voters could have a chance to overturn a landmark court decision that made the state the first and only in the country to legalize gay marriage.

Poor Comparison
Lawrence Journal World

Taken at his word, Hoagland can’t tell the difference between Christian fundamentalism and the tyrannical Islamo-fascists who would destroy our liberties and our civilization. I wonder why. Perhaps his own intolerance blinds his judgment.
