Brian Trainer to teach at Maranatha

Maranatha Baptist Bible College is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Trainer to the Bible faculty. Mr. Trainer is a well-respected, successful advocate and promoter of missions among fundamental Christian colleges culminating in the very successful Team China summer outreach ministry to the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Trainer is in the final stages of his D. Min. degree. Mr. Trainer will be teaching in the Bible department and eventually assuming mission classes formerly taught by Mr. Ted Daub.

Chippewa Falls preacher taking religion to taverns

A brewing idea by a Chippewa Falls preacher will become a reality next month when he holds a nine-week Bible study at taverns in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. “This is our culture,” said the Rev. Perry Polnaszek. “Rather than trying to deny that this is where people are, we want to reach out to them.” The discussion series called “Theology on Tap” even has a sponsorship with Guinness. “It’s a good concept,” he said. “You usually don’t put the two together church and beer.”

Harris Clarifies Comments on Religion

U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris told a religious journal that separation of church and state is”a lie” and … that if Christians are not elected, politicians will”legislate sin,” including abortion and gay marriage. Harris’campaign released a statement Saturday saying she had been “speaking to a Christian audience, addressing a common misperception that people of faith should not be actively involved in government.”

GNU/Linux for Christians
