If you are interested, you might begin your search for audio books at LibriVox. That site offers a collection of books read by volunteers. While the readers are no match for Alexander Scourby, all of the recordings are free and considered public domain. Try it out, you might like it.
Shortly after purchasing my first PDA, I found out that many books are available in ebook format. This allowed me to read many classics that would have been difficult to purchase. But now I have switched to audio books when possible so that I can take advantage of my driving time during the day. I am currently listening to Robinson Crusoe (AudioBooks.org) and have found it to be very interesting. I listened so long that my new iPAQ ran out of battery today!
