    Good old Dorothy, the acerbic wit. It is reported that when she heard of the death of then President Calvin Coolidge as she sat at her table at the Algonquin Hotel in New York, she responded, “Really? How can they tell?” As a theater critic, she also penned this now-famous line concerning a play that was none too successful: “It ran the gamut of human emotion from A to B.”
