Dumb Luck?

At some point in time, the phrase “Oh my Lord!” was probably appropriate. Some well meaning believer blurted out the phrase in recognition of her reliance on God. Unfortunately, most people who currently use the phrase neither know him nor do they stop to think about what they are saying. Despite the misuse, that phrase came to mind when I read the conclusion of Steven Wade’s article, No safety here, just pure dumb luck. From a Christian’s perspective, perhaps “Praise God Almighty!” would work as a substitute title.

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31
