This evening, we watched the beginning of a lunar eclipse. Our children were fascinated even though they couldn’t quite understand what was happening. Honestly, I don’t understand how it all works, but this was definitive evidence of the intricate and detailed work of our Creator. It made me think of one of the psalms:
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
Psalm 8:3-4
The universe came instantly into existence by the voice of the Word of Truth. How marvelous are the works of your hands, oh LORD. How anyone can not see the gift of God in his creation is fooling him/her-self (Romans 1), and in denial of the Truth of God. We watched it here, too, all the way to the full eclipse, and then it got too cloudy to continue (and with all of my “gift” of photography, I forgot to get the camera gear set up!).
