“The grace of God in the gospel calls for a radical response of obedience. … Any gospel that excludes the need for transformed lives is ‘another gospel.’ “
Jon Hutchins, Christian missionary to Brazil
When an unconverted sinner is confronted with God’s perspective of his sinfulness1, the Holy Spirit of God convinces him that his “goodness” is worth absolutely nothing2. That Spirit-induced realization causes him to look to the only One3 who can save him from the eternal punishment4 he deserves. When he turns5 from his sinfulness to trust6 the Lord Jesus Christ as his only hope for salvation, God instantaneously transforms7 him. That transformation affects the new believer in such a way that he desires to live differently8. This is the clearest sign that someone has truly been born again.
