Focus

If I’m talking with a student who desires to be a coach, I’ll pull out his transcript if he has a 2.5 grade point average. I’ll say, “Son, you’re going to have to improve to get into grad school. If your goal is coaching you have to focus on what’s going on here and now.” Of course, there’s overlap here with other fundamentals. If you’re always looking for what’s next you won’t be looking at your blessings and appreciating what you have.
