Trenton’s Bible Study — Ephesians 1:19b-23

Ever since Paul had heard about the Ephesian believers, he had been praying for them. He wanted them to understand all that God had done for them.

Read Ephesians 1:19b-23.

After describing the hope of his calling, our glorious inheritance for God, and his immeasurable power toward believers, Paul got excited about God’s great power. The power that God used to save us from our sins is the same power that accomplished three other amazing things. First, God’s power raised Jesus from the dead. Only God could do that. Second, his power also made Jesus the highest authority in heaven and earth. Only God could do that. Third, his power made Jesus the leader of the Church (all believers). The Church is also called the Body of Christ. Since he is the head and we are each part of the Body, he wisely leads us to do what is best. The power that accomplished these things is actively working in every believer’s life. So, trust God to help you to do what he wants you to do because he has the power to do it.

  1. What is the first thing that God’s power accomplished?
  2. What is the second thing that God’s power accomplished?
  3. What is the third thing that God’s power accomplished?
  4. What does your head do for the rest of your physical body?
  5. What does Jesus as the Head do for the Body of believers?
  6. Since God has such incredible power, how should I live today?
  7. What can God’s power enable you to do today?
