Trenton’s Bible Study — Ephesians 5:6-14

Paul had just showed the Ephesians how to walk through life in a loving way. But he also showed them how Christians should respond to wicked people who live under God’s judgment.

Read Ephesians 5:6-14.

Sin really isn’t that bad, is it? That’s what some people will tell you. But they do not recognize that God’s wrath is poured out on those who disobey him. With that in mind, make sure that you are not living in such a way to make God angry. Before you were born again, you once lived in the darkness of sin, but now that God has given you light to see what is right, you should walk as a child of the Light. And children of Light try to learn what pleases the Lord. But how will you know what pleases him? Just remember that the Lord Jesus is the Light of the world. He will guide you into what is good, righteous, and true. He uses the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and other Christian people to point you in the right direction. As you listen and follow his guidance, you will discover what is pleasing to God. Then as you discover what is right, you should not participate in the deeds of darkness because they do not help you grow as a Christian. Instead, you should expose (show) them to be wrong. But don’t think about their deeds too long as it is not very helpful to talk about what they do in private. As you share the truth and righteousness of the Lord Jesus, his light will expose what is evil. So, now that you are spiritually awake and spiritually alive, let Christ’s light shine on you.
