Each day is a spiritual battle which can only be won by relying on the strength of the Lord and the armor he has provided for every Christian.
Read Ephesians 6:10-12.
After writing about the correct way to handle family and work relationships, Paul summed up his letter with a last paragraph. This was the conclusion of his admonitions to the Ephesian believers. How can we do all that has been commanded by God? We must rely on the strength of the Lord. In Christ, we have the strength to do what needs to be done. And on top of that, he gives us the armor of God to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. A scheme is a plan designed to do something. The devil designs plans to keep Christians from doing what is right. But he is not alone in opposing God’s ways. Our spiritual fight is against at least four other enemies: (1) rulers of darkness, (2) powers of darkness, (3) world forces of darkness, and (4) the spiritual forces of wickedness. It sounds as if the devil has an army of commanders and troops who want to turn each of us from following the Lord. How can we fight against them? We must rely on the strength of the Lord and put on the armor he has provided for each believer. We will look at that next time.
