The Soldier in Armor
by Andy Rupert
The soldier who fought in battles galore
And was known for his valiant stand
Was constantly looking for dangers abroad
As he finally returned to the land
But having returned with his life now at ease
And his family and friends all around him
They slowly convinced him that what he had feared
Was now just a memory behind him
But when he relaxed and forgot ‘bout the danger
The enemy quickly assembled
The soldier who’d always protected the people
No longer a hero resembled
The lesson to learn from this soldier in armor
Who forgot that the danger was there
Is to always be ready and watch like a sentry
Don’t sit back but always prepare
